Issues We Resolve

If you're already in Spain, the hardest part is behind you. But the bureaucracy never stops. We help resolve typical issues.

Residency Renewal

We handle renewal applications for all residency types: work permit, non-lucrative, digital nomad, student, and family reunification.

Status Change

Switching from a student visa to a work permit, from non-lucrative to autónomo, or from one residency type to another.

Permanent Residency

After 5 years of legal residence — application for permanent residency (residencia de larga duración). Removes all restrictions.

Citizenship

After 10 years of residence (or 2 years for Latin American citizens) — application for Spanish citizenship.

Extranjería Issues

Missed deadlines, rejections, lost documents — we help appeal decisions and rectify the situation.

Arraigo

For those living in Spain without documents: arraigo social (3 years), arraigo laboral (2 years), arraigo familiar.

Common Situations

Select what describes your situation:

Residency expires in 2–3 months — need renewal
Want to change residency type (e.g., student to work permit)
Lived 5 years — want to apply for permanent residency
Lived 10 years — want to apply for citizenship
Received a rejection — want to appeal
Missed the renewal deadline
Lost TIE or documents
Living without documents — need legalization

Important Tips

Submit your renewal application 60 days before your residency expires — this grants the right to stay while the application is processed.
You can also submit within 90 days after expiration — but this is considered "late" and may raise questions.
To switch from a student visa to a work permit, you need a full-time employment contract — start looking for a job early.
For permanent residency (5 years), verify that you haven't left Spain for more than 6 consecutive months.
For citizenship, you need the DELE A2 (Spanish language exam) and CCSE (test on the Constitution and Spanish culture).
Save ALL documents, padrones, and contracts — they'll be needed when applying for permanent residency and citizenship.

Frequently Asked Questions

If less than 90 days have passed, you can still apply for renewal (with an explanation for the delay). If more than 90 days — the situation is more complex but not hopeless. In some cases, you can apply through arraigo or start a new process. We'll assess your specific situation.
Yes, this is called "modificación de la autorización de estancia por estudios." You need a full-time employment contract with a salary at or above the minimum wage. You can apply after the first year of study.
10 years for most nationalities. Exceptions: 2 years for citizens of Latin American countries, the Philippines, Equatorial Guinea, and Portugal. 1 year for spouses of Spanish citizens, those born in Spain, and refugees.
Residencia de larga duración removes all restrictions: you can work, run a business, and stop renewing every 1–2 years. It's valid for 5 years with automatic renewal. The only condition is not leaving Spain for more than 12 consecutive months.
There are two paths: recurso de reposición (administrative appeal, 1 month to file) or recurso contencioso-administrativo (judicial appeal, 2 months). Success depends on the reason for rejection — we'll analyze your case and recommend the optimal strategy.
