Ruzafa sits inside this district and drives its reputation: the city's best concentration of restaurants, specialty coffee and independent shops. Quieter and more orderly than the old town, and priced accordingly.

Less monumental than the centre, more about eating and shopping. The Mercado de Colón, a restored modernist market hall, is now cafés and vermouth bars under iron arches. Ruzafa fills up in the evening and stays busy; Gran Via is where the architecture is worth the walk.
